Meet Marissa

Marissa Pine Yeakey (she/her) is a freelance editor and writer focusing on knowledge translation, public health, and mission-driven work. With over 20 years of experience in global health communications, Marissa has a keen understanding of the stories that resonate with donors and policymaking audiences. She has experience working with global and local partners to produce content for a range of audiences – from grassroots program implementers to scientific experts to congressional representatives and policymakers.

As a writer and editor, Marissa prioritizes her clients’ needs and voices, ensuring that the story they want to tell comes through in clear, concise, and accessible language, no matter the topic. Marissa’s expertise in knowledge translation makes complex data accessible to everyday audiences through communication products, leading to better use of research to improve policies and programs with quality data and evidence. As a public health expert, Marissa advises on programs for women’s and children’s health.

Marissa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Earlham College, a Master of Health Sciences degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and an Advanced Certificate in Editing from ACES, the Society for Editing.
